This activity was connected with TEDASCUEN 22 Edition “Stories from a bench”, the short tales contest organized by SPLORA. Pintabanquers was a collaboration with ESI School of Design from Valladolid. During its “Design week” we proposed to the students to create something artistic using one of the contest’s short tales and a bench located at “Zona Joven Pinar”.
They have one day to make a creative design with the mentorship of Alberto Sobrino, a professional illustrator from the city, and another day at the place to paint the benches.
They used 7 benches as canvas to create their artworks. Each bench has a Qr code with a link to a video where people related with cultural arts read the short tale in which the artwork was inspired.
Currently the benches are located in the same place as the stage of AFORA at Zona Joven Pinar, creating a space where different activities like concerts, circular economic events or meetings take place.
They have become an attractive place to visit at the “Zona Joven Pinar”, they are part of an open art exhibition which will be increasing in the future with more collaborations and TEDASCUEN editions.
