On July 8-10 Riga Zine Festival was dedicated to editions with original illustrations, comics, photographs, texts, and poetry.
We had two art-theatre performances. In the first performance two artists created a painting on a big sheet of paper on the floor, using associations and storytelling method, and in the second performance visitors got to know and engaged in the historical form of theatre “cantastoria” – the performer told a story and at the same time an artist was illustrating the story with a series of images and the viewers were part of it as they completed the story and proposed their ideas of the narrative. In the end, the whole wall was painted with illustrations inspired by participants, focusing on their experiences and relevant topics.
